President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a new package of military aid from the United States following talks with Pentagon Secretary Lloyd Austin.
The Head of State announced this in his evening address.
He reminded that today, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Supreme Allied Commander Europe Christopher Cavoli visited Ukraine.
Zelenskyy called the talks with them “a very productive conversation” on the eve of a new meeting in the Ramstein format.
– “Of course, we discussed the situation on the battlefield and its prospects – how we can strengthen both our defense and our movement. There is a new defense package for our country from the United States. I am grateful for it. In particular, there will be more artillery – shells that are needed right now,” the President emphasized.
The parties also discussed Ukraine’s actions in the Black Sea and the protection of our sea corridor for exports. Zelenskyy reminded that freedom of navigation is a key value in the world.
– And Ukraine has proved here, in the Black Sea, that we are able to drive the aggressor out of the water area that he wanted to make dead,” the head of state said.
According to Zelenskyy, normal life in the world “largely depends on whether America is strong in protecting life. And this strength is manifested precisely in support of Ukraine.
About important meetings on November 20
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had held several important meetings today.
The first concerned planning Ukraine’s communication in the international arena in the coming weeks. The President noted that “there will be relevant events.”
In addition, meetings were held with the heads of the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
A meeting was also held with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. It concerned both “current issues” and Ukraine’s relations with certain partners. Shmyhal, in particular, reported on negotiations with Bulgaria and Romania.
– This area of cross-border cooperation is obviously growing now… This includes the work of the maritime corridor, the Danube export cluster, and the overall trade turnover between our countries. With Romania alone, we see the potential for growth to 4 million tons of trade turnover by the end of this year,” the President said.
He added that such cooperation is beneficial not only to Ukraine but also to partner countries. After all, “the whole region grows when neighbors cooperate.”
