The Ukrainian military has not recorded any signs of Russian occupants preparing for an offensive in southern Ukraine. Our defenders continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
This was reported by the Southern Operational Command.
It is noted that the situation in the area of responsibility of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine remains tense.
– “There are no signs of the formation of offensive groups in the enemy’s actions,” the statement said.
Ukrainian troops are holding the positions they recently took on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region.
They continue counter-battery combat, inflicting fire on enemy positions and the rear of Russian troops.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, they managed to eliminate 6 occupants, destroy a field supply point and a UAV control center.
Shelling by Russian troops
During the day (from 07:00 to 07:00), the occupiers fired 9 times at populated areas. They shelled Kherson, Bilozerka, Mykilske, Ochakiv and Solonchaky.
Six civilians were wounded, including a child. More than a dozen high-rise buildings, about 30 private houses, two garages, four private enterprise buildings, a gas pipeline and power lines were damaged.
In addition, the occupants dropped four shrapnel munitions from a UAV on the village of Antonivka (Kherson region). There were no civilian casualties.
Creation of a bridgehead in Kherson region
On November 17, the Ukrainian Marine Corps confirmed that our defenders managed to gain a foothold on several bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson direction). More than 1.2 thousand occupants and several hundred pieces of Russian equipment were eliminated.
As noted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the main goals of the operation is to push the occupiers as far as possible from the right bank so that they do not fire on civilian settlements.
Ukrainian troops continue counterattacks on the left bank of the Dnipro and are gaining ground in this area.
