German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv.

This was reported by the AFP news agency, BILD reports.

Pistorius arrived in the Ukrainian capital by train early in the morning. The details of the visit were not previously disclosed.

The German Ministry of Defense said that the purpose of the visit is to confirm Berlin’s support for Ukraine.

Negotiations with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and the President of the country Volodymyr Zelenskyy are scheduled for the afternoon. The parties will discuss the training of Ukrainian soldiers and the strengthening of military aid to Kyiv.

It is noted that Boris Pistorius will lay flowers on Independence Square, where pro-European protests began 10 years ago.

This is the second visit of Pistorius to Kyiv.
