The most important achievement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine over the past six months is the naval victory in the Black Sea.
Yale University history professor Timothy Snyder said this in the Telegraph podcast.
According to him, this achievement of the Ukrainian defenders remained almost unnoticed.
– Some reporters covered it, but in general it passed people by, while there is something significant about what actually happened, namely this naval victory, – he said.
Snyder added that “to everyone’s surprise” Ukraine managed to restrain the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and open a corridor for commercial grain trade.
Earlier, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced financial assistance to Ukraine for the repair of port infrastructure.
