In December, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will receive several times more drones than in November.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk in an interview with ArmyInform.
He noted that in recent months, the Ukrainian military has been receiving more UAVs of various modifications and types. However, due to the high intensity of fighting in some parts of the frontline, drones “are essentially expendable,” especially tactical-level UAVs.
The Ministry will allocate additional resources to purchase such drones.
– Their stock needs to be replenished virtually continuously, just like shells. In November, we managed to send more UAVs to the troops than in the previous month. We have recently received additional resources for procurement. So in December, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive many times more drones. I hope the situation on the battlefield will change,” emphasized Havryliuk.
According to the deputy minister, the Armed Forces of Ukraine currently operate about 70 modifications of drones, as well as more than 20 types of ammunition for UAVs.
Production of electronic warfare equipment
Ivan Havryliuk clarified that Ukraine needs not only to scale up the production of UAVs, but also electronic warfare equipment.
The Ministry of Defense stimulates domestic production of this equipment.
Recently, six new models of electronic warfare systems, including the so-called trench systems, have been put into service. Testing of tactical radio jammers for barraging enemy ammunition and FPV drones has been completed, and they were developed by Ukrainian enterprises.
– In the near future, it is also planned to test a number of tactical electronic warfare equipment against UAVs and UAV detection equipment,” the deputy minister added.
As you know, the Ministry of Defense has accelerated the delivery of new weapons and military equipment to the Armed Forces. The term has been reduced to 20 days, although it may vary depending on the quality and availability of parts.
