Belgium has confirmed its intention to transfer F-16 to Ukraine in 2025
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Uerov discussed with his Belgian colleague Lyudivin Dedonder the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, the training of pilots and the supply of the necessary equipment for the aircraft.
This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to Umerov, it is now necessary to start the process of establishing supply chains of ammunition, spare parts and technical equipment for the F-16.
“Belgium confirms its intention to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine in 2025,” the message says.
Also, during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of receiving representatives of the Belgian defense-industrial complex in Ukraine at the beginning of next year.
– We highly appreciate your unwavering support and comprehensive participation in the process of strengthening the defense capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, – emphasized Umerov.
It is noted that the total amount of technical assistance from Belgium to the Defense Forces of Ukraine amounts to more than 320 million euros.
Earlier, First Deputy Minister of Defense Oleksandr Pavlyuk announced that a special structure is being created at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the integration of F-16 multi-purpose fighters.
