Finland will increase production of artillery ammunition for Ukraine
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkinen said that in the next few weeks his country will make a decision to increase the production of artillery ammunition.
This is reported by Iltalehti.
– We have completed negotiations on how Finland will continue to increase the production of heavy ammunition for the armament of Ukraine. This decision will be made in the near future, – Hakkinen said.
According to him, the matter will probably be resolved before Christmas.
– Currently, a plan to significantly increase ammunition production has been announced. The goal is to support Ukraine even more than now. At the same time, we are further increasing the readiness of Finland and the Northern region for the production of ammunition, – the minister emphasized.
Hakkanen also hopes that Finland’s example will force other countries to fulfill their promises to increase the production of artillery ammunition.
Earlier it became known that the German arms concern Rheinmetall AG will produce artillery ammunition for Ukraine worth about €142 million.
