Austin and Umerov held negotiations behind closed doors: what is known
Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Rustem Umerov held talks in the USA.

The agency reports that before the start of negotiations between the officials behind closed doors, Austin publicly confirmed the support of Kyiv from the United States.
– Ukraine has regained most of the territory seized by the Russian Federation since its unprovoked (full-scale, – Ed.) invasion in February 2022. So we will support Ukraine in the long term. I am sure that our allies and partners will also be (together, – Ed.) with us, – he said.
The Pentagon statement said that the bilateral talks between the ministers were based on conversations that took place last month in Kyiv, and included Ukraine’s strategic goals for the coming year and a long-term vision for the future armed forces.
It will be recalled that US President Joe Biden appealed to the US Congress to approve additional financing of military aid for Ukraine in the amount of more than $60 billion.
However, the Republicans in the Senate of the US Congress on Wednesday blocked the draft law on providing aid to Ukraine and Israel due to the lack of provisions on the protection of the US border.
