The spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said this on the air of the telethon , answering the question why the alarm was declared in Kyiv and the region after the explosions.
According to him, the Russian Federation carefully plans operations to launch ballistic missiles.
That night, the Russians struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles flying from the northern direction, initially from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
– You know what ballistics is, that’s why the time to declare an air alert is limited. This is not the first time, because ballistics fly extremely fast. Literally – a matter of minutes to react to anti-aircraft defenses and destroy them, – he said.
It is not yet known what type of ballistic missiles the Russian Federation attacked today.
At around 4 am on December 11, the Russian Federation launched a missile attack on Kyiv, injuring four people.
