Russia activates subversive groups in two regions – State Border Guard Service
Russia has activated sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko.
According to him, the situation on the border with Russia remains difficult. In addition to shelling, there are numerous attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
– The saboteurs have appropriate weapons and equipment and try to act covertly. Sometimes they divide into several groups, carrying out distracting maneuvers. Often they leave explosive traps at their workplaces,” said Demchenko.
He emphasized that saboteurs pose a danger not only to Ukrainian soldiers but also to ordinary citizens. Terrorists can open fire on civilians or vehicles that come into their sight.
The SBGSU spokesman said that one of the latest groups was exposed in Sumy region. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the border guards and territorial defense forces, the saboteurs were driven beyond the state border.
Earlier, the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Nayev said that Russian saboteurs had tried to enter the territory of Ukraine seven times in the last two weeks.
