Britain will increase naval support to Ukraine: details

Britain will use its naval expertise to help Ukraine control the Black Sea as part of a 10-year security pact to be signed in the coming weeks.
This is reported by The Telegraph.
It is noted that the memorandum of understanding promises to support Kyiv in the fight against Russia, providing military support, focused on naval assets, as well as financial assistance and intelligence sharing.
It will also contain promises of post-war security guarantees to deter Moscow if it decides to attack again, including increased arms supplies and the reimposition of sanctions.
– British officials informed their Ukrainian colleagues that within the framework of the planned Memorandum of Understanding, the country will focus on strengthening the maritime potential of Kyiv, – the publication writes.
The new agreement will build on the recent announcement that Great Britain, together with Norway, will lead the Coalition of Naval Forces and Assets, which will transfer two minesweepers of the Royal British Navy to Ukraine.
Defense sources declined to provide any additional details at this stage about the weapons that may be sent to Kyiv, except to confirm that they will also include ground and air assets.
The main focus in the supply of weapons will be on making Ukrainian forces more “operationally compatible” with NATO. This will act as a long-term deterrent against future attacks.
