The commander of Azov, Denys Prokopenko, said that the war in Ukraine could last for years, and therefore called to replenish the ranks of the army or become a reliable rear.
Prokopenko wrote about this on Facebook.
According to him, the war can last for years, because Russia will never give up its geopolitical goals and will not let Ukraine out of its sphere of influence. The war will continue as long as we are able to resist.
Commander Azov believes that any truces or agreements are just time for the enemy to accumulate more resources to continue the war. Therefore, it is very important for Ukraine that our ability to mobilize the necessary resources and work on the edge of superhuman capabilities does not turn into indifference.
— Unfortunately, many people in Ukraine and abroad still refuse to accept the ruthless reality as it is. Some try to convince themselves that everything will end by itself. Someone, on the contrary, is petrified by the very thought that peace in Ukraine may come in almost a decade, – Prokopenko emphasizes.
Ukrainians are also negatively affected by Russian informational and psychological attacks, they say that Ukraine will not withstand a long war, the army and volunteers will get tired and break down.
According to Denys Prokopenko, the Azov Regiment has been at war since 2014. And during this time, the people of Azov learned not to pay attention to fatigue and not to succumb to despair; realized that perhaps not only youth, but also our whole life will be spent on the fronts of the war for the independence of Ukraine.
“The best medicine against despair, panic or apathy caused by thinking about the time frame of this war is active involvement in the historical processes that are happening here and now,” says Commander Azov.
Denys Prokopenko emphasizes that no one knows the exact day, month or year when Ukraine will win and the soldiers will be able to return to their families. That is why those who are not yet involved in the Defense Forces have to make a conscious choice: to take up arms, replenishing the ranks of the military, or to become a reliable rear for the army.
