Ukraine’s defense needs were discussed: Zelenskyу and Stoltenberg met in Davos

On the sidelines of the Swiss Davos forum, President Volodymyr Zelenskyу and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed a number of issues related to the defense of Ukraine.

Zelenskyу thanked Stoltenberg for the constant support of Ukraine from the bloc.
The President and the Secretary General discussed the situation on the Ukrainian front. The head of state talked about the massive Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities and communities that happened recently. And in this context, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of strengthening our air defense system.
The parties also discussed the signing of a bilateral agreement on security cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain.
The President emphasized the importance of signing similar documents with other countries, because these agreements will be valid until Ukraine joins NATO.
Volodymyr Zelenskyу and Jens Stoltenberg also discussed preparations for the next NATO summit in Washington. Ukraine expects the adoption of decisions that will bring our membership in the North Atlantic bloc closer, the head of state said.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, despite the political position of Hungary, Slovakia and the Netherlands, will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine. This is in the interests of the security of the block.
