Ukraine returned the bodies of another 58 dead Ukrainian defenders.

This was reported on February 16 in the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Return of fallen soldiers on February 16

After the return of the fallen soldiers on February 16, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will ensure the transportation of repatriated bodies and remains to designated state institutions.

There, they will be handed over to law enforcement officers and forensic medical experts to identify the victims.

After the identification of the bodies, relatives will be able to bury the fallen defenders.

According to the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the return of the fallen soldiers became possible thanks to the cooperation of the staff of the headquarters with:

• the joint center under the Security Service of Ukraine,
• by the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,
• Central Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
• Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine,
• other representative offices of structures of the security and defense sector of Ukraine,
• International Committee of the Red Cross.
