Winning the war against Russian terror in Ukraine is a matter of survival for democratic systems and what democracies are capable of.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a video address following the 749th day of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
– Ukraine is capable of defending itself with sufficient support. By protecting ourselves, we can ensure that no other international criminal will be tempted by aggression like Putin. We can protect lives and we must do so,” the President said.
Attacks on Ukraine
The President of Ukraine listened to reports from the regions on the elimination of the consequences of Russian strikes and assistance to the affected people. In particular, in Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Myrnohrad and Odesa.
– Sumy – Shahed’s strike on a residential building. Kryvyi Rih – the consequences of a Russian missile attack. Myrnohrad, Donetsk region – a direct hit by an airplane bomb on a residential building. Each of these strikes took lives. My condolences to all those who have lost loved ones. We had a separate conversation about Odesa – helping people after the destruction of a house on Dobrovolsky Avenue,” he said.
According to the President, the regional authorities and the Cabinet of Ministers are helping Ukrainians with new housing and other similar issues.
Rescue operations
The Head of State thanked everyone involved in the rescue operations, working to clear the rubble, helping and supporting people who have lost their relatives.
In his opinion, it is very important that after the Russian strikes, our people are not left alone with pain and problems.
– It is the duty of local authorities, all state and municipal services, and, if necessary, the central government, including the Cabinet of Ministers, to respond and regulate all situations so that people really feel that Ukraine always helps. No matter what happens, there will be support in every corner of the country. This is exactly what is needed,” the President said.
