ATACMS, Patriot and F-16: Zelenskyy meets with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham

On Monday, March 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and heard a report on the situation in all areas of the frontline. The head of state also discussed the needs of the Armed Forces with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
Zelenskyy said this in his evening address.
– “Kupiansk direction, our directions in Donetsk region, southern directions. Analysis of the dynamics of ammunition – logistics in the army has become significantly more efficient. There were reports from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industry on contracts for the supply of weapons and ammunition from both partner countries and domestic production. There was also a government report on the construction of fortifications at the Stavka – all resources are provided,” he said.
The President noted that this year Ukraine should reach the highest level of defense production since independence.
What weapons does Ukraine need
Zelenskyy also spoke with the President-elect of Indonesia and met with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of the Republican Party.
– We talked, among other things, about how important it is that freedom and democracy win now, in this war, and here in Ukraine, because otherwise Russian aggression and chaos will spread around the world. I informed the senator about the situation on the battlefield and the basic needs of our Defense Forces. The needs are quite obvious. Petriots, Atakams, F-16s. And, of course, artillery. We discussed further cooperation and support for Ukraine,” the Ukrainian president said.
Finally, Zelenskyy thanked the leadership of the European Union and all member states for creating a new €5 billion Fund to help Ukraine under the European Peace Facility, which will support our defense efforts this year.
