Could mean lack of other missiles – Yevlash on Russia’s alleged use of Zircons

Russia’s alleged use of Zircon hypersonic missiles may indicate that the aggressor has a shortage of other types of missiles. In addition, this is how the occupiers can test the Ukrainian air defense system.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilya Yevlash on Radio Liberty.
According to him, the research and expert center is currently investigating whether the Russian army really used Zircon missiles during the recent shelling of Ukraine.
– The fact that they are using them most likely indicates that they already have a shortage of weapons, otherwise they would not have used them. In general, this type of missile is an anti-ship missile, and it is used only in certain cases, using different launchers, such as Bastion, Bal,” Yevlash said.
The Air Force spokesman noted that if the Russians had enough missiles of another type, such as Kalibr, Iskander, or others, they would use it.
– “The Zirokon is a rather complicated missile, quite expensive, quite powerful… It can also be a kind of experiment – to test our air defense system, where, what and how it is protected, what is covered, in order to use it in the future when planning their next air attacks,” added Yevlash.
Alleged shelling of Kyiv with Zircon missiles on March 25
On the morning of March 25, explosions were heard in Kyiv. The air defense forces reported two downed ballistic missiles launched by Russia from Crimea. Their type is being established.
It was reported online that during the shelling of Kyiv, Russians could have fired hypersonic Zircon missiles at the capital.
Valeriy Romanenko, an aviation expert and leading researcher at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, said in a commentary to Fakty ICTV that the explosions in the capital could have been the result of Russia testing Zirkons.
