Lithuania may dismantle its closed TPPs to provide spare parts for the restoration of Ukrainian energy facilities damaged by Russian attacks.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko on the air of the telethon.
– Had a conversation with the Minister of Energy of Lithuania. They generally offered to use their thermal stations, which are closed. To use them as donors, that is, the opportunity to disassemble and get the spare parts that we need, – he said.
According to Halushchenko, many other countries are also helping Ukraine to restore energy facilities.
The minister also emphasized that the best protection for the energy system is strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system.
Attacks of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian energy industry
Since March 22, Russia has renewed massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy structure.
On April 5, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the Russian Federation had destroyed 80% of Ukrainian thermal power plants in recent weeks.
Earlier, Ukrenergo announced the introduction of blackout schedules in six regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Sumy regions.
