Zelenskyy: Patriot is an air defence system only when it is in operation, not at storage bases

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to partners to provide our country with Patriot air defence systems.
The head of state wrote about this on social media, adding footage of the latest Russian attacks.
Zelenskyy stressed that Patriot is an air defence system only when it is in action, protecting lives, and not standing still somewhere at a storage base.
– “Modern fighters are needed where modernity is being tested and where it is decided whether the children and grandchildren of current generations will live in peace and security. The democratic world has all the strength to overcome Russian terror,” Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State called on partners “not to be afraid of their own strength and really help protect lives”.
– “Patriot is needed now in the hands of Ukrainians. Modern fighters are needed in the Ukrainian sky. Russian missiles and Iranian Shahed must lose, so that ruins never win over life anywhere,” the President stressed.
Zelenskyy added that only together can we effectively counter terror. He thanked every country and every leader who “already understands this”.
As a reminder, during an emergency meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs at least seven more Patriot systems or similar air defence systems for defence.
