Within a few weeks, the ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi is to begin work as ambassador to Great Britain.

This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak, on air on the Kyiv TV channel.

According to him, officially all processes are already detailed, only “some logistical components” have to be resolved. Podolyak noted that the agreement (prior agreement of the British side) and other protocol procedures are already ready.

– …I think this question has been for weeks. Some logistical components still need to be resolved, – he said.

In addition, the adviser to the head of the President’s Office noted that he does not see “politicization” surrounding the surname of Zaluzhnyi. Podolyak stated that it is important to talk about resignations and new appointments, but, according to him, it should be done “more calmly”.

– It is necessary to be more calm about any rotations of Ukrainian personnel. Because war is, after all, a significant crisis phenomenon and not everyone can withstand the load… And this is a normal process for any healthy society, – Podolyak noted.

Zaluzhnyi’s dismissal and his appointment as ambassador

Valerii Zaluzhnyi was the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces from July 27, 2021 to February 8, 2024, that is, approximately 2.5 years.

On March 7, Zaluzhnyi was approved for the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
