Government allocates over UAH 8 billion for construction of fortifications – Shmyhal
The government has allocated more than UAH 8 billion from the state budget for the construction of fortifications through the redistribution of expenditures.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 23 April.
Construction of fortifications at the frontline
According to him, since the beginning of 2024 alone, the Government of Ukraine has allocated almost UAH 38 billion to strengthen the defence borders.
– And we are not going to stop there. Our task is to create a reliable defensive rampart that will protect soldiers and give our army more advantages on the battlefield,” Denys Shmyhal said.
In early April, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate an additional UAH 5.6 billion for the construction of fortifications.
