During the attacks on Ukraine, Russian troops began to use X-59 and X-69 missiles more often.
Ilya Yevlash, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, said this on the air of the United News telethon.
– ‘Recently, the enemy has begun to use X-59 and X-69 missiles much more actively to hit our infrastructure facilities. They are not very different in terms of their characteristics, but the X-69 is more modernised: it has a longer range and more power,’ he said.
The Russians use these missiles to destroy various Ukrainian facilities, including energy facilities.
According to the Air Force representative, the X-69 missile was first used against Ukrainian infrastructure in February this year.
– ‘After a short break, the enemy resumed its massive attacks and, of course, it will continue them as long as it sees strategic expediency and has the means to destroy,’ Yevlash added.
He noted that the main goal of the Russian Federation is to destroy Ukraine, disrupt its infrastructure and cause maximum damage.
Ukraine needs more air defence systems to protect itself from the aggressor’s air strikes.
