The Czech Republic handed Ukraine the first simulator of the American F-16 fighter. The trainer was sent to one of the tactical aviation brigades.
This was reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
The first F-16 simulator in Ukraine
According to Oleschuk, this is the first F-16 simulator in our country. The main module is already being tested and prepared for operation by Ukrainian specialists.
– This is not a simulator, this is a full-fledged aviation simulator with a real cockpit of an F-16 aircraft from VRGINNERS. A pilot can clearly feel where the controls are, what he will see in flight, where what signals are passing, – said the representative of the Air Force Training Command Oleksandr Dyakiv.
The simulator fully implements the training process and regarding the use of aviation means of defeat.
The representative of the Czech company, Roman Balaz, added that specialists from the Czech Republic were in Ukraine and already trained the first five Ukrainian specialists to operate the simulator. Now they will train Ukrainian pilots on the F-16.
Dyakiv noted that the prospects for obtaining the next batches of simulators are very high, work in this direction is constantly being conducted.
The commander of the Air Force thanked everyone who helps Ukraine to strengthen the aviation component.
He emphasized the importance of creating a powerful educational and material base for young people and called on allies to join this initiative.
F-16 for Ukraine
On May 8, the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands announced its readiness to start supplying F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine this fall.
Belgium promised to deliver the first batch of F-16 to Ukraine in 2024 .
