Biden and Zelenskyy will arrive in Normandy on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of D-Day – June 6, 1944, when the troops of the Western Allies began Operation Overlord – the landing of air and sea landings on the coast of French Normandy.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will also arrive in France.
The meeting between Biden and Zelenskyy at the G7
Jake Sullivan also said that Biden and Zelenskyy will meet again next week in Italy at the G7 summit.
– In a little more than a week, President Biden will have two meaningful meetings with President Zelenskyy, – said Sullivan.
The last time the two leaders met was during Zelensky’s visit to Washington in December 2023. Then they discussed military and economic aid to Ukraine.

New US aid to Ukraine
According to Sullivan, the US plans to announce the delivery of additional aid in the coming weeks, but he did not specify which. The White House adviser also made it clear that the US will not send military personnel, not even instructors, to the country.
– I will note that the United States has created a significant training infrastructure in Germany. They trained thousands of Ukrainian soldiers in Western-made equipment. We are ready to continue and even expand this training, – Sullivan told reporters.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained why he would like US President Joe Biden to personally attend the Peace Summit in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on June 15-16.
