Zelenskyy in Berlin: Our key focuses are air defence and energy
The energy system and air defence are two key priorities without which normal social life in Ukraine is impossible.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.
– ‘Germany remains a leading country in helping Ukraine to protect its skies by supplying Patriot air defence systems. And today, there is a new decision by the Chancellor to supply air defence systems. We are very grateful, Germany has saved thousands and thousands of Ukrainian lives, and this is what brings our victory closer,’ the politician said, addressing Scholz.
Military aid to Ukraine – Germany donates air defence systems
On 11 June, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the transfer of a third Patriot system to Ukraine, as well as IRIS-T, Gepard, missiles and ammunition over the coming months.
He also called on the assembled world leaders to fully support the initiative to increase the capabilities of Ukraine’s air defence.
