The head of the Danish Ministry of Defense explained that the country will stop training Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 because of the transition to F-35 fighters, for which they will use the air base in Skridstrup, where Ukrainians are currently being trained.

— When the training program ends at the end of 2024, about 20 Ukrainian F-16 pilots will undergo training on the territory of Denmark, – Poulsen said.

In addition, Denmark will still be able to contribute to the training of Ukrainian pilots, but this will not take place on the territory of the country.

Poulsen reminded that Ukrainian pilots also undergo F-16 training in Romania. He stated that there is no decision yet whether Denmark will join this process and how.

Recently, the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren, announced that this summer her country will hand over the first F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine . She also clarified that Denmark will first hand over these planes.
