According to the President of Ukraine, these brigades were created a long time ago as a reserve. However, as the head of state noted, the reserve must work and be combat-ready.

Therefore, it is important that he is not only with a weapon, but preferably that he trains on the weapon with which he will later fight.

– The main thing is that you have a reserve – primarily for carrying out rotations. This was my task – we needed rotations so that the guys had rest. And all that we asked constantly, that these 14 brigades were staffed. These are not new brigades. They were very often mistaken when they said: Ukraine wants to recruit new brigades. These are not new brigades, these are brigades without weapons, – Zelenskyy said.

He also noted that these brigades can be considered fresher compared to those already fighting.

At the same time, Zelenskyy added that it cannot be considered that these 14 brigades are completely without weapons, because they have already started receiving certain weapons, in particular artillery. But, as the president noted, a positive result is still far away.
