Western partners, in particular Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark, have promised to supply Ukraine with twice as many military aircraft as there are trained pilots and engineers for technical maintenance in our country.
This is how the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, responded to the remark that the supply of fighter jets from the allies is too slow.
He said this on the air of the national telethon.
Military aircraft for Ukraine – what determines the terms of delivery
Arakhamia explained that in the case of Ukraine, the seemingly lengthy terms of handing over military aircraft are actually record-breakingly fast.
— During the post-war period, the delivery terms for aviation are always five to six years, and in the case of Ukraine, it is one year.
We already have twice as many promised planes as the number of trained pilots and engineers who can service it. In other words, we now have a bottleneck – it’s not the boards anymore, but the people, – emphasized the people’s deputy.
He also noted that the delegation from Kyiv in the United States even tried to “move the queue” at training grounds for foreign pilots in favor of Ukrainians.
– This issue is being worked on at the highest political level, in particular, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “isn’t ashamed” to ask other countries about it, – Arakhamia said.
