China stands for a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine – Kuleba

China has reaffirmed its support for a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine, and reaffirmed the principle of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba following talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Guangzhou.
Talks between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and China
The minister said he had a three-hour conversation with his Chinese counterpart, which he called “detailed and frank.”
– What is fundamentally important? China unshakably reaffirmed its respect for the principle of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is very important. This removes a number of insinuations,” he said.
Dmytro Kuleba also said that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi “clearly said” that he “agrees that we need not the illusion of peace, but a just and sustainable peace.
– This is what we should strive for. That is, we should not seek any temporary solutions. Of course, I informed in detail about the Peace Formula, the Peace Summit, and our next steps. I explained, using the example of history, the example of today’s events, that, look: Ukraine did not bend under any of Putin’s ultimatums, under Putin’s terrible military strike. And Ukraine will never bend a single centimeter if anyone in the world, regardless of where they come from, tries to speak to us in the language of an ultimatum. It is simply impossible,” says the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
In particular, Minister Kuleba says that in the negotiations he emphasized two principles that must be strictly observed: no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine, and respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
– If these two principles are respected, we can have any talks and look for any solutions,” he said.
Ukraine – EU – China
The ministers also discussed “broader things,” Kuleba said, including China-Ukraine relations in view of Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union.
According to him, Ukrainian-Chinese relations “should already be viewed through this prism.”
– China’s willingness to develop trade with Ukraine, and to develop bilateral relations with Ukraine in general, is palpable. There are huge economic opportunities here. We want closer relations between Ukrainian regions and Chinese regions,” the minister said.
“At the same time, the peace process was the focus of all negotiations.
– “We continue to talk to China, continue to work with all the countries that participated in the Summit, the Peace Formula, that supported the joint communiqué, (countries – Ed.) that are still considering joining the joint communiqué,” he said.
As a reminder, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived in China on a three-day visit that began on July 23 and is scheduled to end today, July 25.
