The suspect in the murder of Farion will be requested to be arrested without bail – the prosecutor’s office
Prosecutors will request a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail for the suspect in the murder of politician and public figure Iryna Farion.
Deputy Prosecutor General Anton Voytenko announced this during a press briefing in Lviv, which was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine.
Preventive measure for the suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion
According to him, the investigation of the suspect, who was detained in Dnipro the day before, was conducted in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 115 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
– The prosecutors submitted to the court a request for a preventive measure in the form of detention without an alternative in the form of a bail. Prosecutors will insist on this in court, – he said.
It is noted that the petition has currently been sent to the Halytsky District Court of Lviv.
In turn, the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said that the crime was carefully planned, so its investigation was not easy. Klymenko added that during the investigation, the law enforcement officers conducted several investigative experiments, during which all the details of the suspect’s activities during the 10 days before the alleged commission of this crime were established.
Earlier, the investigation said that the main versions of Farion’s murder are her public and political activities , as well as personal enmity. In addition, the involvement of Russian special services is being investigated.
