Will there be an attack on Ukraine’s Independence Day: what the US Embassy in Kyiv says
According to the estimates of the US Embassy in Ukraine, the threat of missile attacks on Independence Day, as well as drone attacks, is increased regardless of the time of day.
In this regard, representatives of the American embassy ask US citizens who are in Ukraine to follow local media reports, find out where the nearest shelters are and go there immediately as soon as the air alert is announced.
In the event of an emergency, the US Embassy in Ukraine urges its citizens to heed the instructions of Ukrainian officials and emergency response services.
By the way, on August 22, separate Telegram channels spread the message that the US Embassy in Kyiv made public for the Independence Day of Ukraine two years ago.
At that time, the Embassy assumed that the Russian Federation was preparing an attack on government facilities in Kyiv, so they urged their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately.
Today, this message distorted by Telegram channels was immediately picked up by Russian propaganda resources, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine emphasizes.
At the same time, the Center for Countering Disinformation adds: the danger of enemy missile and drone attacks on Kyiv and other populated areas of Ukraine is constantly present, regardless of holidays or “round dates”.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for the 911th day.
You can monitor the situation in cities on the interactive map of hostilities in Ukraine and the map of air alerts in Ukraine.
