On Wednesday, August 28, the Security Council of the United Nations plans to hold a meeting in connection with Russia’s large-scale attack on Ukraine on August 26.

This was announced by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya.

The UN Security Council will hold a meeting due to shelling of Ukraine

According to Kyslytsya, Ukraine and partner countries from among the members of the UN Security Council initiated the meeting of the Council to consider the latest events of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and their consequences.

The representative of Ukraine at the UN noted that the mass shelling of Ukraine on August 26, 2024 will be in the center of attention during the meeting.

In addition, he emphasized that everything said by the Russian occupiers will not only be part of the official protocol of the meeting, but will also be the subject of consideration by future war criminals tribunals led by Putin.

At the same time, according to DW , the Russian media wrote that on Friday, August 30, at the request of the Russian Federation, the UN Security Council will allegedly hold another meeting dedicated to the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine.

We will remind that the large-scale attack of the Russian Federation on August 26 covered almost all of Ukraine and became one of the largest in recent times.

The Russian invaders released more than a hundred rockets of various types and about a hundred Shaheds on the territory of Ukraine.
