Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov will meet with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin on Friday, August 30, at the Pentagon.
This was stated by Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh during a briefing.

During the meeting, Austin will be informed about the current situation on the battlefield in Ukraine, as well as about the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
– The minister will confirm the steadfast support of Ukraine by the United States in the face of Russian aggression, – said Singh.
She also reminded that next week, the 24th meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine will be held, in which Austin will participate.
According to Western media, including CNN, during the visit, Ukrainian officials plan to hand over to the Biden administration a list of targets in the Russian Federation for the lifting of restrictions on strikes with long-range American weapons.
– They will provide a list of priority goals, without which it will be difficult to change the course of the war in favor of Ukraine, – an unnamed official told CNN.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, stated that Italy sends weapons to Ukraine only for the purpose of defending its territories and does not give permission to use them against objects located in Russia.
