According to Shmyhal, the funds will help cover priority budget expenditures and maintain macro-financial stability.

— Ukraine continues to successfully fulfill its obligations to partners. We are already preparing for the next viewing of the program. Thank you to the IMF for your support and cooperation! – he noted.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine noted that in this way Ukraine has already attracted about $5.4 billion of the $15.6 billion provided for in the program.

— Additional financing from the IMF for the priority needs of the state budget of Ukraine is the result of the successful third revision of the EFF program. Thanks to timely support, we are able to continue to maintain financial stability in Ukraine, – noted Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko.

It will be recalled that on March 21, the Executive Board of the IMF completed the third review of the EFF extended financing program. On December 14, 2023, Ukraine received the third tranche of financing in the amount of about $900 million from the IMF (within the framework of the Enhanced Financing Mechanism (EFF) program).
