Belgium will finance reconstruction projects in Ukraine for €150 million.
The relevant agreement was signed by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal during an online meeting on Wednesday, July 13.
Agreement on the reconstruction of Ukraine with Belgium: what is known
As noted in the document, the funds will be directed to the restoration of energy and social infrastructure in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
– The signed agreement simplifies the implementation of our joint programs and projects, will contribute to the restoration, economic and social development of our state. Also, according to the agreement, the Belgian development agency Enabel will open its representative office in Ukraine, the message says.
We previously reported that Switzerland intends to strengthen the economic development and long-term reconstruction of Ukraine over the next twelve years.
By 2036, it is planned to allocate a total of 5 billion Swiss francs (over €5 billion) for these purposes.
