Ukraine signs security agreements with Slovenia and the Czech Republic

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a security agreement with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Holob and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

The signing took place in the United Kingdom, where the Ukrainian guarantor arrived on July 18.

The agreement between Kyiv and Prague is dedicated to enhanced cooperation in the military-technical sphere, primarily in the area of small and large caliber ammunition, the possibility of producing small arms and light weapons, as well as UAVs, electronic warfare equipment, and heavy machinery.

– The Czech Republic will continue to assist our country within the framework of its initiative to supply artillery shells of 155 mm and 122 mm caliber with the support of partner countries.

In addition, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will strengthen industrial ammunition production facilities on their territories and establish joint ventures, the document states.

As for the non-military side of the agreement, it is important to highlight the Czech Republic’s partnership with Dnipro and Dnipro region for recovery, reconstruction, and sustainable development.

The Czech Republic also intends to open a diplomatic mission in Dnipro to strengthen cooperation and assistance.

Security agreement with Slovenia – what does it provide for

According to the document, Slovenia will assist Ukraine in training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM).

Our countries will cooperate in finding sources of funding to assist in the implementation of Ukrainian defense industry projects.

The agreement also provides for humanitarian support.

– Ljubljana will allocate €5 million to Kyiv for humanitarian aid, economic recovery, and the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine,” the President’s Office said.

The cooperation between the two countries involves deepening cooperation in the areas of information and cybersecurity, the fight against organized crime, intelligence and counterintelligence, and humanitarian demining.

Golob emphasized that Slovenia actively supports Ukraine’s vector to the European Union and NATO.
