Five Ukrainian citizens have returned home from Russian captivity. The exchange took place according to the 5-by-5 formula, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
All those released are civilians illegally detained by Russian troops. Four civilians were taken prisoner during fighting in the Kyiv region. Three of them were during the temporary occupation of Gostomel.
The body of one of the dead defenders of Ukraine was also returned. The coordination headquarters is working on the return of all captured Ukrainians, the Ministry of Defense stressed.
Tyra, a Ukrainian doctor and volunteer Yulia Payevska, was recently released from captivity. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this.
The head of state did not specify when Taira was released from captivity, but noted that she was already at home.
