The situation is complicated: Ukrenergo has told what will happen to electricity by the end of the week

The reasons for the deterioration of the situation in the Ukrainian power system are the consequences of the last massive missile attack, a decrease in the productivity of solar power plants due to cloud cover and an increase in electricity consumption due to warming.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, chairman of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, stated this on the air of the telethon.
He emphasized that scheduled repairs at nuclear power plants are another important factor.
Will there be an increase in consumption limits?
According to him, in the near future, a significant increase in electricity consumption limits for regions should not be expected.
– These limits are determined by the available capacity. That is, how much electricity we have, relatively speaking, can be produced and imported, that much we distribute among the regions. And the change of these limits is possible only if the damaged power units are significantly restored or if the consumption is significantly reduced. So far, neither one nor the other is expected. Therefore, the situation this week will be difficult. The only thing is that consumption will drop on weekends. It always happens like this, it is a permanent trend. Therefore, it will be a little easier on the weekend, – said Kudrytskyi.

Kudrytskyi also noted that the deficit in the Ukrainian energy system is quite significant, so scheduled power outages today can also be long.
However, if Ukrainians stick to the specified limits, emergency shutdowns can be avoided.
– If our colleagues stick to the limits that we set for this day, the outages will be planned. But the deficit is quite significant, so the duration of these outages, unfortunately, can also be significant. It can be 4 hours or more. Depending on whether we are talking about rush hour – morning or evening, or about hours when the shortage situation is a little less acute. This is a day zone and a night zone, – he added.
The day before, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated at a government meeting that the consequences of recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities will be long-term.
And also that saving electricity will become part of the life of Ukrainians in the coming years.
