From 200 to 220 thousand residents will be obligatorily evacuated from the Donetsk region. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, in a commentary to the host of ICTV Vadym Karpyak within the framework of the national telethon.
Vereshchuk stressed that the evacuation of residents of the Donetsk region is mandatory. Among the reasons is preparation for the heating season, as there is no gas supply in Donetschina.
– All of the gas plants that could be repaired – have been repaired, but the enemy, again and again, destroys everything that would help to heat people in winter. There is also no proper electricity supply. In short: there will be no heat in the Donetsk region in winter. Another reason is shelling, which is only getting worse,” – she listed.
The Deputy Prime Minister specified that a special staff is evacuating residents of the Donetsk region to safer regions and called it “the duty of every adult” to leave Donetschina.
– There are 52,000 of our children in the Donetsk region. They need to be evacuated and must not be put in mortal danger by leaving them in the winter without heat and light and without the ability to warm them up. In total, 200-220 thousand of our citizens must be evacuated from the Donetsk region. There are places where we will place them, these are certain regions,” – the Minister said.
According to her, everyone, who will be evacuated, will receive IDP certificates and monetary payments.
– “We already have this plan and, most importantly, an understanding of where people will be moved and where their children will study. I ask for one thing: evacuate now. There are corridors, my personal control, we will resettle people, they will not be without heat and our attention – promised Vereshchuk.
What to do if you do not want to evacuate
According to Irina Vereshchuk, a certain form of refusal to evacuate will have to be filled out.
– If a person refuses to evacuate, he will have to sign that he understands and realizes his responsibility for his life. We are a democratic country, we can’t force anyone to evacuate,” – said Deputy Prime Minister.
She added that now the staff is only thinking about how to make sure that children do not suffer because of the irresponsibility of parents who may think it would be better to leave them at home, despite the shelling and the fact that there will be huge problems with heat in winter.
Previously, Vereshchuk headed a coordination headquarters to organize the evacuation of residents of the Donetsk region.
