The Russian invaders kidnapped the man from his home, severely beat and tortured him for being a former combatant.

– The occupiers brought Nazar, who was tortured, home. His condition deteriorated critically, after which the man was taken to the hospital in Oleshky, where he later died, – said the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada.

The anti-terrorist operation veteran has two minor children left – he has been caring for them without his wife for the last five years.

Lyudmila Denisova appealed to the UN Commission of Inquiry into Human Rights Violations, as this case is a war crime, because according to Article 3 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, persons who do not take an active part in hostilities should not be prosecuted.
