A MiG-31 long-range fighter-interceptor, which may be a carrier of Kinzhal cruise missiles, crashed on the territory of the Russian Federation.
However, the crew of the military plane managed to eject. The accident occurred in the Primorsky Krai of Russia, foreign publications report.
– MiG-31 crashed in Primorye. The crew ejected, the pilots are alive. The flight was carried out without ammunition. The cause of the event could be a technical malfunction, – the mass media claim with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
The Russian MiG-31 can be a carrier of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, which are inconspicuous for the air defense systems of Ukraine.
Dagger is considered a deep modernization of the 9М723 single-stage solid-fuel missile for the Iskander complex in the aviation version, that is, it is launched from military aircraft.
