Six killed, 75 wounded: search and rescue operation completed in Kryvyi Rih

Five killed, over fifty wounded. Russia fires missiles at Kryvyi Rih

On the morning of 31 July, explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro region. Russia launched a missile attack on a residential building and an educational institution.

Update at 20:00. The search and rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih has been completed, according to the Dnipropetrovs’k Regional Military Administration. The Russian shelling killed six people and wounded 75 others.

Three people were rescued, including a 10-year-old child. Tomorrow, 1 August, a day of mourning has been declared in the city.

Updated at 18:20. Six people have already died in Kryvyi Rih, according to the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

As of this hour, the number of injured is 75, including six children.

Of the 22 hospitalised, two are seriously injured.

Update at 17:20. The number of wounded has increased to 73, including eight children. There are 22 wounded in hospitals, including two children. Two people are in serious condition.

Unfortunately, the death toll has reached five, including a 10-year-old girl, said Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defence Council.

A day of mourning has been declared in Kryvyi Rih tomorrow.

Updated at 16:58. The number of casualties has increased to 64, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovs’k Regional Military Administration Serhyi Lysak.

– Five people are dead, including a child. We already know about 64 victims. Two of them are boys and three girls. They are between the ages of 4 and 17,” he wrote on Telegram.

According to him, most of the injured “will be treated at home, but more than 20 remain in hospitals.”

Earlier in the telethon, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defence Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported four dead: two men, a 45-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter.

The State Emergency Service reported that as of 12:10 a.m., units had rescued three people, including a child born in 2013. In addition, 30 people were evacuated.

Rescue operations are ongoing.

Update at 10:30. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that Russians fired two missiles at the city.

One missile hit a four-storey building of an educational institution. There are probably people under the rubble. Rescuers and police are working.

– The second rocket destroyed a section from the 4th to the 9th floors of a residential building. A fire broke out. As of 10:15 a.m., one person has died, and 10 residents have sought medical assistance,” the statement said.

“Emergency workers are currently extinguishing the fire and dismantling the rubble. There may still be people there.

Earlier, the Russian army hit the centre of Kherson with Grad multiple rocket launchers.
