Subsequently, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported that the city was attacked by Shahed-136/131 type attack drones.
Several hits were recorded: an infrastructure object and a residential dormitory.
As the mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, said in a comment, the number of victims has already increased to 15.
All the wounded were hospitalized in the Nizhyn city hospital. Currently, four remain in the medical facility.
The dormitory, whose 24 apartments were mostly occupied by people of retirement age before the drone strike, is uninhabitable – the building has extensive damage, there is no gas, water or electricity.
The local authorities are currently evicting people from the hostel, and then they will start to board up the doors and windows there.
After that, major repairs will have to be done.
