Genocide and massacre: what the Western media published on the front pages about the horrors in Bucha.

The world was shocked by the first photos from the liberated Bucha. Shelled residential buildings, dead people lying right on the streets, some have their hands tied and shot in the head.

On Monday, the front pages of the world media came out with headlines specifically about the horror that the Russian military committed in Bucha.

World media also write about a huge mass grave in Bucha.

Thus, the British edition of The Guardian published an article entitled Horror in Bucha, which reported on mass graves, as well as evidence of the killing of civilians in the nearby cities of Irpin and Hostomel.

In the headline of The Mirror, under the inscription Putin’s latest atrocities, it is written briefly – Genocide. On the first page of the publication, there is a photograph of one of the streets of Bucha, where the bodies of civilians lie on the pavement. The publication also writes that hundreds of Buchans were found in mass graves, some of them were tied.

The headline of The Times  – Civilians shot in the streets. It is reported that many of the victims were tied up as if for execution. Journalists of the publication visited two places in Bucha. And the publication also quotes the head of MI6, Richard Moore, who said that the method of killing is terrifying and frightening.

The British national publication i (inews.co.uk)  writes that those killed on the streets of Bucha were civilians. The front page of the newspaper came out with the headline – Massacre of the Innocent.

The publication also published Boris Johnson’s call to “starve out Putin’s military machine”.

The Financial Times and Telegraph focused on the issue of sanctions. The FT reports on the prospect of a complete oil and fuel embargo against Russia, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that after the facts of the massacre in Bucha, new sanctions would be imposed against the Russian Federation.

EU diplomats are expected to discuss the issue on Wednesday.

The Telegraph has not published photos from Bucha, but notes that the UK and its allies will not rest until Russian President Vladimir Putin is held accountable for war crimes.

The Daily Mail ran a front-page article titled Putin’s Spot on Humanity and compared what happened in Bucha to “Nazi atrocities and Stalin’s Great Terror”.

The Metro newspaper quoted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in the headline – Worse than ISIS. The publication writes that the photos of the massacre from Bucha are too terrible to print, but the Kremlin claims that they were allegedly staged.

The American edition of the New York Times published an article with the headline – In the suburbs of Kyiv, they shot everyone they saw. The NYT tells the stories of some Buchans who witnessed the brutality of the Russian military.

The Washington Post published a front-page story under the headline – Zelenskyy called the Russian invasion a genocide.

The Der Standart published an article with the title – Evidence of war crimes in Ukraine: satellite images show a moat near a church in Bucha.
