EU Council approves sanctions against Iran for supplying drones to Russia

The Council of the European Union on Thursday approved by written procedure sanctions against Iran for supplying Russia with kamikaze drones, which the terrorist country uses to strike civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
This was reported on Twitter by the Czech Presidency of the EU Council.
It is noted that sanctions against Iran were adopted in record time.
The written procedure has been completed, the sanctions come into force this afternoon after publication in the Official Journal
– After three days of talks, EU ambassadors agreed on measures against organizations that supply Iranian drones that have struck Ukraine, the Council said in a statement.

The EU decided to freeze the assets of three individuals and one organization responsible for the supply of drones. In addition, Europe is ready to add four more Iranian organizations from the previous list to the new sanctions list.

Earlier, Ukrainian MPs called on partners to impose tougher sanctions against Iran for supplying military aid to Russia in the form of drones, as well as to force Tehran to abandon its intentions to transfer ballistic missiles to Moscow.
