Johnson will not put forward his candidacy for the post of British Prime Minister

Boris Johnson has announced that he will not put forward his candidacy for the post of Conservative leader and Prime Minister of Great Britain.
Johnson was supported by 59 deputies, but he needed to reach 100 votes to continue the election.
The former finance minister of Great Britain, Rishi Sunak, announced his candidacy for the post of prime minister and leader of the Conservative Party.

The ex-minister became the second candidate who officially ran for office. So far, it has been supported by 144 deputies. The first candidate was the leader of the House of Commons of Great Britain Penny Mordont.
Sunak previously ran for prime minister in the previous election, but lost to Elizabeth Truss, who then resigned.
