The “Hunger Games” must be stopped: Kuleba about the statement of the Russian Federation to withdraw from the grain agreement
Ukraine has repeatedly warned about the plans of the aggressor country Russia to disrupt the grain agreement, especially after Moscow’s contrived pretexts for blocking the sea corridor.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, called on the world to make demands on Russia to return to fulfilling its obligations.
– We warned about the plans of the Russian Federation to disrupt the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Now Moscow is blocking the grain corridor, which ensures food security for millions of people, under a contrived pretext. I call on all states to demand that the Russian Federation stop the hunger games and return to its obligations.
Despite the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine expects a reaction from Turkey and the UN, stressed the presidential spokesman Serhii Nikiforov.
– Ukraine did not sign any “grain agreements” with the Russian Federation. The signatories are Russia, Turkey and the UN. And Ukraine did not sign any agreements with the Russian Federation, because it understands that it almost never fulfills its obligations. Therefore, we are waiting for the reaction of the signatories, he emphasized.
Subsequently, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko expanded the comment of the Ukrainian diplomatic service and stated that Ukraine considers Russia’s suspension of participation in the grain agreement as “an embodiment of Moscow’s course to destabilize global food security.”
– Now it is extremely important that the UN and Turkey, as guarantors of the grain agreement, as well as countries that depend on the export of Ukrainian grains, send a clear signal to Russia about the inadmissibility of keeping hundreds of millions of people in the world, in particular in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as hostages of hunger games of the Kremlin, – Nikolenko wrote on Facebook.
Russia announced its withdrawal from the grain agreement due to the night explosions in Sevastopol, which damaged, in particular, several ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that Ukraine was involved in the explosions in Crimea, but Ukraine did not confirm this statement.
