The US Senate approved $800 million in the defense budget for Ukraine

The US Senate approved the draft defense budget for 2023 – it will amount to $848 billion.
The document was published on the website of the US Congress.
American lawmakers agreed to provide Ukraine with at least $800 million in security, which is $500 million more than President Joe Biden requested earlier this year.
The budget also provides assistance to Taiwan to expand security cooperation in the amount of up to $10 billion over five years.
In general, the draft law provides for defense spending of $45 billion more than requested by Biden, because during the discussion in Congress, they sought to eliminate the consequences of global inflation and provide Ukraine with additional assistance in the field of security.
This budget could become the largest in US history if it is supported by congressmen and senators and then signed by President Joe Biden.
Earlier it was reported that US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed support for Ukraine during the meeting and once again condemned Russia’s invasion.
The leaders of the two countries promised to continue helping Ukraine as long as necessary.
