Erdogan called on Putin for a unilateral ceasefire in Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Erdogan held telephone talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on January 5. One of the topics of the conversation was the war in Ukraine.

– Erdogan said that calls for peace and negotiations should be supported by a unilateral ceasefire and a vision of a just settlement, – reports the press service of the Turkish leader.

At the same time, Erdoğan recalled that the negotiations on the grain corridor, the exchange of prisoners and the creation of a safe zone around the Zaporizhzhіa NPP brought positive results.

The other day, the spokesman of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalina, denounced the separate negotiations between Recep Erdogan and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyу, and the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin.

It is currently unknown whether Erdogan has already spoken with Zelenskyу.

The last time Zelenskyу and Erdogan spoke on the phone was on December 11, the same day the Turkish leader spoke with Putin.
