23 million people may be affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria – WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that nearly 23 million people could be affected by a strong earthquake that hit southern Turkey on February 6.
This is reported by the CNN channel.
Maps of the areas affected by the earthquake show that 23 million people could be affected in one way or another, according to Adelheid Marchang, WHO’s senior emergency officer.
These 23 million include about 5 million vulnerable populations, including more than 350,000 elderly people and 1.4 million children, Adelheid Marchang said.
The head of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus, said that he is concerned about the situation in those regions from which the WHO does not have information, because it is necessary to understand what to focus attention on.
According to the latest data, more than 5,000 people have already become victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. More than 4 million people are already in need of immediate humanitarian assistance.
We will remind that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on providing humanitarian aid to Turkey to overcome the consequences of the devastating earthquake.
